Jealous of the Old Me

I logged on to my friendster account and found this old photo of me.  This was taken on our graduation ball when I was on my 4th year in high school.  Sigh!  How I wish I could be this thin and eye-bag free again.

I always come across some reading materials or men saying that they can't fathom what women are thinking sometimes.  It's a wonder why men and women do fall inlove with each other.  Hehehe.  But I'm not going to talk about love.  That's just my introduction.  Hehehe.

A certain person has always been telling me that I have been "maldita" or mean nowadays.  Hehehe.  I always tell that person that I haven't really change a bit.  But the truth is, I have.  I'm really like this when I miss the person or when I'm going to miss the person.  It's my not so obvious way of making lambing to the person.  Hahahaha!

So, to you, sorry if I'm being so mean to you this past few days.  Hehehehe!

Chicken Cheese Sticks

As we all know, we have celebrated the feast of Sto. Nino last Sunday, January 16, 2011.  Every year when the whole city of Cebu is celebrating Sinulog, we always prepare food for those visitors who will come into our house.  Last year, I cooked siomai and spaghetti. Those are a few of the dishes that I know how to prepare. Hehehe!  This year instead of spaghetti, I prepared siomai and chicken cheese sticks.  And it was the first dish to replenish. Weeeeehhhh...  It wasn't really my first time to cook the said dish.  But it was the first time that I perfected it.  Nyahahaha!  The first time I prepared it, it was a disaster.  The bread crumbs and the spring roll got burned.  But infairness to it, Jereco still devoured all the Chicken Cheese Sticks left on the plate.  Hahaha...

Here is the recipe for Chicken Cheese Sticks.

Chicken Breast(Cut into Strips and seasoned)
Cheese(Cut into Strips)
Bread Crumbs
Egg
Spring Roll/Lumpia Wrapper

Wrap the chicken strips and the cheese strips on a spring roll  or lumpia wrapper.  Dip the wrapped chicken and cheese strips into the egg and then into the bread crumbs and then deep fry it.

When we were still little, we always count on to our parents and older siblings.  We ask for their help whenever we are in trouble or when we are afraid.  But when our parents sent us to school or introduced us to the kids of their friends, some of us found another confidante outside our home.  I am not really the type of person whom you can call friendly.  As much as possible, I stay away from other people's shadows.  When I was a little kid (well, maybe until now) my mother would always scold at me for being so shy.  I am always afraid to approach people and talk to them.  Hehehe! But if the person can get my trust and i can feel that I can trust him/her, I also get so talkative.  Hahaha!

Because of my being so shy, I only have a few friends.  But with those few friends that I have, i can say that they can really depend on me when they need me. (except for money matters...hehehe...)  Luckily, in times that I needed them, they were also there for me.  Like for instance, Retchel.  Everytime I need someone to talk to about my family and my love life, she has always been there for me to listen and to give me some advice.  Everytime I need someone to accompany me, she's always been so willing.(except if she has a date. hehehe!)  I am really thankful for those friends that I have met for my 23 years of existence here on earth. (don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bid goodbye. Hahaha!)  So thank you my friends and expect my full loyalty to you all.  Hehehe.

From Mongo Beans to Carbonara with Love

For the last weeks of December, I've been craving to eat Mongo Beans(Monggos).  Hehehe!  I've been always eating pasta, pizza, chicken and other foods for the past months.  So when Jaydee texted me one time that he's cooking Monggos, I immediately got a craving to eat some.  Hahaha!  I can't remember when was the last time I ate some Monggos.  So on that day ,at lunch time Me and my friend Wally really searched for a store selling it.  But unfortunately, no store was selling it.  I told Jaydee about my craving for Monggos so he
promised that he will cook for me when he will have some time.  So last January 2, while it was raining hard, Jaydee cooked Mongos.  And it was so perfect for the weather.  A hot Monggos for the cold weather.  Yummy.  Hehehe!

In return, yesterday afternoon, I cooked carbonara for Jaydee and his family.  It was my first time to cook the said dish.  I was so nervous that they might not like it.  But it turned out pretty well.  It was delicious.  Hehehe!  Well, it was because Jaydee helped me cook it.  Hahaha!  But infairness, it was me who really planned out everything and it wasalso his first time cooking carbonara.  Hehehe!  I'm so proud of myself.  Hahaha!

Below is the recipe of the Carbonara that we have made.  I won't post the recipe of the monggos, because I did not know how Jaydee cooked it.  I was busy watching How I Met Your Mother when he was cooking it.  Hahaha!

Ingridients:
Fettuccine Pasta
Butter
Mushroom
Freshmilk(1 box)
Cream(2 cups)
Chicken(cut into small pieces)
Bacon(cut into small pieces)
cornstarch
garlic
onion

Steps:
On a sauce pan, heat the butter.  Then add the cream.  When the cream and butter are already well mixed.  Add a a cup of the fresh milk.  Dissolve the cornstarch on a cup with fresh milk.  Then add the mixture.  When the sauce is already creamy, add the rest of the milk.

On another pan, heat the butter.  When it is already melted, sautee the garlic and onion.  Add the chicken, and season it.  When the chicken is already cooked, add the bacon.  When the bacon and chicken are cooked, mixed it with the white sauce and then add the mushroom.  Mix it for 5 minutes until the mushroom is cooked.  Then add a little salt and pepper.  Turn off the heat and mix the sauce with your pasta.  And it's all done.

I was really planning to also put shrimp, but when we bought the ingredients, there were no shrimp being sold there.  Maybe next time.

Thank You...  Those are just two simple words but if it's being said by the person whom you have just made really happy would become a very special words.  Sometimes, I tend to forget to say thank you to those people who really made an effort to make me happy, to make me feel that I am special and cared.  But it doesn't  mean that I am being ungrateful.  I just sometimes forget to say those words especially when I am being overwhelmed by my feelings, of the happiness that I felt.  I'm not really good in expressing my feelings in words. Hehehe.  So, for those people that I might have hurt because I forgot to say thank you, I'm sorry.  I did not meant to hurt you. I am really thankful for everything.  I really hope that people won't misunderstood me.  :)

Well, I'm not just writing this article to say thank you and I'm sorry to those people who has been so generous and kind for making me happy.  I am also writing this article to say thank you to those people who really make an effort to read my blog.  It is really a nice feeling, knowing that somebody reads the stuffs you are writing.  I'm not really that proud of all the things that I am writing here.  But still it really makes you feel good everytime somebody tells you of what they felt after they have read the article that I have just wrote.

Cooking Trip

Here is the recipe for my experiment dish. hehehe

Ham sliced into cubes or strips
Hotdog sliced
Chicken breast(get the bones and slice it)
Cheese
Pasta
Garlic
Onion

Saute garlic and onion in a pan, add the chicken then season it with salt.  You can also add pepper on it.  When the chicken is already cooked, add the hotdogs and ham.  When it's all cooked, add a little water.  You can season it with magic sarap.  You can then add the pasta.  Sprinkle it with cheese then plate it and then serve it while it is hot. (char...hahahaha...)
